Craving Compass — Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Craving Compass (the "Service"), a platform that connects food truck owners with customers looking for live food truck locations and menus. By accessing or using Craving Compass, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Questions? skinners1309@gmail.com.

1. Who can use Craving Compass

You must be at least 13 years old to use Craving Compass. By using the Service you confirm you meet this requirement. If you create an Owner account on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business to these Terms.

2. Customer accounts

Customers can browse the map and follow trucks without signing up. Creating an optional account lets you keep your favorites across devices. You are responsible for your account credentials. Don't share them; don't use someone else's. Report any unauthorized access to your account to skinners1309@gmail.com.

3. Owner accounts and truck listings

If you are a food truck owner, you can create an Owner account and list a truck. By doing so you agree that:

You are the operator of the truck you list, or have explicit authority to act on its behalf. Impersonator or duplicate accounts will be removed.
Truck information you provide (name, cuisine, menu, location, hours) is accurate to the best of your knowledge and kept up to date. Customers rely on what you publish.
You will only broadcast as "live" when your truck is actually serving customers at the location you set. Misleading broadcasts (showing as live when closed, or at a different address than your real location) are grounds for account removal.
Your menu does not contain illegal, infringing, harmful, hateful, or sexually explicit content, and your photos are ones you have the right to use.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Craving Compass to:

Harass, threaten, impersonate, or defame anyone.
Post fake, misleading, or fraudulent content (including fake trucks, fake locations, or fake follower activity).
Submit false reports against legitimate trucks. Abuse of the "Report" button may result in account removal.
Attempt to access another user's account, scrape data from the Service at unreasonable rates, reverse-engineer the app, or interfere with its operation.
Use Craving Compass for any unlawful purpose, or to facilitate any unlawful purpose.

5. Social media connections (Facebook and others)

You may optionally connect your truck to a Facebook Page (or, later, Instagram). When you do so, Craving Compass will automatically publish a single post to your Page when you tap "Go live" — containing your truck's name, your optional live message, and a link back to your Craving Compass profile. You can disconnect or pause auto-posting at any time from your owner dashboard.

You are responsible for ensuring you have authority to post on any Facebook Page you connect. Craving Compass will never read existing posts on your Page, never post without an explicit "Go live" action by you, and never access Pages you did not grant.

6. Content ownership

You retain ownership of the content you submit (your truck name, menu, photos, etc.). By submitting content to Craving Compass, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, and distribute that content as needed to operate and promote the Service — for example, showing your menu to a customer searching nearby, or showing your live location on the public map. This license ends when you delete the content or your account (subject to reasonable backup retention).

7. Craving Compass's content

The Craving Compass name, logo, software, design, and any content we ourselves produce are owned by Craving Compass. You may use the Service as intended; you may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.

8. Service availability and changes

Craving Compass is provided "as is" and "as available." We may add, change, or remove features at any time. We may also suspend the Service for maintenance, security, or other reasons without prior notice. We aim to keep the Service running but make no uptime guarantees.

9. Account suspension and termination

We may suspend or remove your account if you violate these Terms, impersonate another truck, post misleading content, or generate repeated customer reports. You can delete your account at any time from your dashboard ("Danger zone" → Delete truck). Deletion is permanent and removes your truck, menu, followers, and analytics.

10. Customer reports

Customers can report trucks they believe are imposters, spam, offensive, or closed. We review reports and may remove trucks at our discretion. Submitting deliberately false reports is itself a violation of these Terms.

11. Disclaimers

Craving Compass is a discovery tool. We do not verify the accuracy of truck listings, menu items, prices, or location data, and we are not responsible for food quality, safety, allergens, or any transaction between you and a food truck. Always confirm with the truck directly before relying on listed information for any food safety concern (allergies, dietary restrictions, ingredient details).

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Craving Compass and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim related to the Service will not exceed USD $100 or the amount you paid us in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless Craving Compass and its operators from any claims arising from content you submit, your violation of these Terms, your violation of applicable law, or your violation of any third-party rights.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you (e.g., via in-app notice or email to your account address). Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Florida.
